Pani, a Canadian software-as-a-service (SaaS) company, today announced the completion of an oversubscribed $8M CAD capital raise. Funds include a seed equity round co-led by Blue Bear Capital and Blue Coast along with participation from Mazarine Ventures and Humanitas.

With significant funding for water infrastructure and climate resiliency, the bill will now make its way to a highly contested Senate.

Klir receives $16m investment to develop water software

The investment will help Klir expand its water software services and gain ground in a market forecast to grow to $20.2bn by 2030. Originating in Ireland, the company expanded into the US and Canada less than a year ago, moving its headquarters to Toronto.

Arc Marine secures £1M investment

ARC Marine has secured a £1 million equity investment from the Cornwall & Isles of Scilly Investment Fund (CIOSIF), as part of a larger £2 million-plus funding round. The deal was led by the FSE Group, the appointed fund manager for CIOSIF, with the investment enabling ARC (Accelerating Reef Creation) Marine.

Dr. Kate Brauman’s research quantifies how changes in nature affect human wellbeing, with a particular focus on water resources. She served as a Coordinating Lead Author for the Global Assessment of the Intergovernmental Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) and at the US Department of Defense as a Climate and Water Security Fellow. Kate is currently a Lead Author for a United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP) Global Synthesis Report.

Kate leads an international, interdisciplinary project funded by the US National Science Foundation and the Belmont Forum to work closely with Investment in Watershed Services projects throughout South America. Closer to home, Dr. Brauman was tapped by the Minnesota State Government’s Environmental Quality Board to identify relevant science for the 2020 State Water Plan focused on water and climate.
