Dr. Ajume H. Wingo hails from Nso in the North West Region of Cameroon.  His interest in water is demonstrated by three water projects he completed in three communities supplying water to a total population of about twenty five thousand inhabitants. He is the founder of PridePads, an NGO registered in Boulder and Ngaoundere in Cameroon to help produce and distribute biodegradable, affordable and accessible sanitary pads to help girls stay in school while fighting child trafficking, early marriage along with providing young women with livelihood empowerment.

Wingo is an Associate Professor of Political Philosophy; the Associate Director of the Center for Values and Social Policies; and the Director of the Law and Philosophy Program at the University of Colorado at Boulder. He attended the Cameroon College of Arts, Science and Technology and the University of Yaounde, Cameroon where he studied law at the Faculty of Law and Economics. He obtained his BA from the University of California Berkeley and an MA and Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He did his Postdoctoral Research at Harvard and Boston University. He is the author of Veil Politics in Liberal Democratic States published by Cambridge University Press. He is currently working on three book manuscripts entitled In the Shed of Power: Democratizing Modern Democracies. He also the author of several professional academic journal articles and book chapters.
