Dr. Diamond is a licensed psychotherapist with a Ph.D in International Health and master’s degree in Social Work. His passion is to help men and their families do four things:

  1. Live a fully authentic life.

  2. Love deeply and well.

  3. Learn to survive and thrive as we transition from a dominator to a partnership society.

  4. Embrace their calling to do their part to save humanity.

Following the birth of his son, Jemal, on November 21, 1969, he made a vow that he would be a different kind of father than his father was able to be for him and to do everything he could to create a world where men were fully engaged with their families throughout their lives. Shortly thereafter, he founded MenAlive as a vehicle to fulfill that promise.

Over the last fifty years, Dr. Diamond has become a world-wide leader in the emerging field of gender medicine and men’s health. He believes that gender reconciliation and healing can create the foundation for healing all our relationships. He works with many organizations, including the Riane Eisler’s Center for Partnership Studies in support of their mission “to catalyze movement towards partnership systems on all levels of society through research, education, grassroots empowerment, and policy initiatives.”

Dr. Jed is the author of sixteen books including international best-selling, Looking for Love in All the Wrong Places, Male Menopause (that has thus far been translated into 22 foreign languages), The Irritable Male Syndrome: Understanding and Managing the 4 Key Causes of Depression and Aggression, Male vs. Female Depression: Why Men Act Out and Women Act In, The Warrior’s Journey Home: Healing Men, Healing the Planet, and 12 Rules for Good Men.

His life changed in 1995 when he was speaking at an international men’s gathering. As a participant in a Native American sweat lodge ceremony he was gifted with a vision where he saw the sinking of The Ship of Civilization and the emergence of Boats of Life that would take those who are ready to create a world that is peaceful, just, and sustainable for all.

He is married to Carlin and they are proud parents of five children and seventeen grandchildren. His work is for them and all future generations.
