Robert Muh was a co-founder of Sutter Securities Inc. in San Francisco where he was CEO from 1992 until 2019. Prior to Sutter Securities, Mr. Muh was a Partner/Senior Managing Director in charge of the San Francisco region of Bear, Stearns & Co., Inc. He joined Bear Stearns in 1977 as head of the Los Angeles corporate finance department where he built the firm’s largest corporate finance office outside of New York. He was chairman of Newburger, Loeb & Co., Inc. a New York Stock Exchange member firm, from 1970-1972 and with McKinsey & Co., management consultants, from 1966-1969.

 

Bob was a trustee of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) for 25 years and is now is a Life Trustee Emeritus. He has served as a trustee of the Culinary Institute of America since 2009 and is currently Chairman of the Board. Bob served as a member of the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) Board of Governors from 2016 to 2019. He has also served as a director of more than 25 public and private companies including four listed on the NYSE. Mr. Muh has a bachelor’s degree from MIT and both an MBA and a Master of Philosophy degree from Columbia University. While at Columbia, Mr. Muh was an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Finance. From 2015 through 2019, Bob was an Adjunct Professor at the University of San Francisco Law School.
