Una fundamentally believes that water is a human right. Women and girls are disproportionately impacted by the climate crisis and water crisis. Una is keen on working on issues that bring stakeholders together to address these issues at the intersection of human rights, gender, water and climate justice and action.

Una recently joined the Global Sustainability team at Starbucks supporting the enterprise’s planet positive aspirations. She is leading the climate and water strategy developments, engagement and partnership with key global organizations on scalable solutions, and is helping integrate the company’s people + planet positive efforts. In this capacity, Una is also supporting water smart and climate resilient ag.

Prior to Starbucks, Una was a Senior Manager on the Gap Inc. Global Sustainability team. She helped lead the enterprise’s 2020 integrated sustainability strategy, partnered with Banana Republic to set brand sustainability goals focused on water reduction, cleaner chemistry and sourcing of more sustainable materials, and supported various cross-brand initiatives to identify efficiencies in Gap Inc.’s operations and supply chain. With her extensive program management experience, Una was responsible for implementing several key programs focusing on environmental impact and human rights.

Una served as the Deputy Chief of Party of the Gap Inc. and USAID Women + Water Alliance (a 5-year public-private-partnership dedicated to sustaining the health and well-being of women and communities touched by the apparel industry in India). In this capacity, Una managed NGO partners CARE, Water.org, WaterAid and the Institute for Sustainable Communities to improve access to safe water and promote smarter ag and industry practices to reduce water risk and support resilient communities. Prior to this, Una supported the scaling of supplier capability building programs to advance worker well-being, working conditions, and advance women in the workplace.
