“The Water Emissaries really helped me understand and appreciate the diverse ways people are making an impact, and while I had never seen myself as a potential entrepreneur, the program helped me appreciate the value of diverse backgrounds in this space. A business background is great, but knowing deeply what an issue is, and why you want to dedicate your time to solving it, is perhaps the most crucial aspect to not only success, but building something you can be proud of.”

I really liked Drew Fitzgerald's talk - his ability to launch both a for profit company and a non-profit was very inspiring. I think his energy also just made legible the fact that entrepreneurship is indeed a hustle but that having a mission helps to keep one on track to accomplish big things. I also really appreciated the talk we had where we learned about design thinking as this was very practical. In the future it might be god for WE to have more sessions like that (where you learn a new skill) or use that presentation as a way to brainstorm individual projects.

I really enjoyed the session with Drew FitzGerald. For me, hearing his nonlinear career trajectory helped me factor in how my background and experience can be leveraged in an entrepreneurial setting. It is genuinely not something I had considered previously, and helped me appreciate the value I could bring to a business setting.
