“The WE program is a great platform to meet individuals who are equally passionate about water and learn about a multitude of new tech and innovations. A great avenue to connect with not only people but connect with water itself. The program has helped me pinpoint the real issues plaguing the world of water and inciting more passion within me to be proactive and do something about it.”
“This program really strengthened my respect for water and expanded my knowledge of the world's most valuable resource. The presentations of different companies and water enthusiasts allowed me to gain new perspectives on water. This program introduced me to many opportunities that will benefit my future in water conservation.”
“Water Emissaries opened my eyes to the beauty of water, and also the dire need to appreciate it. WE gave me the baseline education needed to raise awareness, and also the support system needed to go out and make a difference. The WE program cultivates a compassionate community of people with a common goal of making a positive impact in the world of water.”
“The Water Emissaries really helped me understand and appreciate the diverse ways people are making an impact, and while I had never seen myself as a potential entrepreneur, the program helped me appreciate the value of diverse backgrounds in this space. A business background is great, but knowing deeply what an issue is, and why you want to dedicate your time to solving it, is perhaps the most crucial aspect to not only success, but building something you can be proud of.”

“The Water Emissaries program educated me about the water crisis, those affected and how I could be a part of the solution. The inspiring speaker presentations taught me about different fields related to water. Workshops like design thinking taught me skills that I can utilize in my future career. Also, I expanded my network by connecting with the other emissaries and guest speakers. Overall, this program helped me become educated and motivated about water, and I am very grateful to be a part of it.”
“The Water Emissaries program offered a number of interesting topics revolving around our water technology, water conservation, solutions, stakeholders and networking that will be useful for me to utilize toward my future career goals and toward making the greatest impact for our water future.”
“It's a great program for meeting industry professionals. You can get perspectives from different background that come from all over the country, and sometimes even internationally.”
“This program was effective in educating me about global water issues and seeing that there are people constantly innovating solutions to hard problems- I also really appreciate the WE team's work and Stuart's commitment in developing the next generation of leaders.”
“The Water Emissaries program was a great addition to my existing knowledge of the world of water conservation and sustainability. The program involved different water expert guest speakers and topic areas that we could discuss with other students across the country.”
“This program helped me consider my angle to approaching social and environmental issues. I have spent years learning about different issues we face as a society, but knowing the issue and knowing how you would like to approach these are very different. The Water Emissaries really helped me understand and appreciate the diverse ways people are making an impact, whether this be from the perspective of an entrepreneur or a public servant.”
Matthew Pucci, University of California, Santa Barbara
“As an environmental science/public affairs major I didn’t have too much of a passion for water issues but this program definitely put a fire under that.”
“I think it has expanded my knowledge of how many water focused companies and nonprofits are actively working towards water solutions which makes me feel like a career in this field is possible.”
“I really liked Drew Fitzgerald's talk - his ability to launch both a for profit company and a non-profit was very inspiring. I think his energy also just made legible the fact that entrepreneurship is indeed a hustle but that having a mission helps to keep one on track to accomplish big things. I also really appreciated the talk we had where we learned about design thinking as this was very practical. In the future it might be god for WE to have more sessions like that (where you learn a new skill) or use that presentation as a way to brainstorm individual projects.”
“I really enjoyed the session with Drew FitzGerald. For me, hearing his nonlinear career trajectory helped me factor in how my background and experience can be leveraged in an entrepreneurial setting. It is genuinely not something I had considered previously, and helped me appreciate the value I could bring to a business setting.”
