“Hey! My name is Bebe Schaefer, and I am currently a sophomore at American University. My major focuses on the cross-sections of communications, legal studies, economics, and government. My minor focuses on the critical race gender studies of American society. My studies have exposed me to many different intersections of American life culturally, politically, and racially. It is increasingly clear to me how important building relationships and interpersonal communications are in achieving an inclusive society. This knowledge has provided me with the tools to help facilitate a collaborative, problem-solving environment that places equity at the forefront of our goals.

Water is a necessity for all life forms. Without it, our planet could not survive; in that same sense, water connects us. It brings us back to our origins as a species. Water forces us to see that no matter our background, race, gender, or religion, as humans, we all began the same: from water. We continue to need this precious element throughout our lives, reminding us of our importance to our environment that we must always serve and protect.” - Bebe Schaefer
