Peter Ullrich is a graduate student at Northwestern University with a focus on Global Health. He currently works as a clinical research coordinator at Northwestern as well, where his lab performs research on wound healing and scar recovery in both the clinic and surgical setting. Since graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2019, Peter’s professional, academic, and volunteer activities have all surrounded human health. Most recently, water and sanitation has captivated Peter. Through the non-profit organization One Shared World, Peter helped coordinate a draft of a UN-style resolution which demanded greater water, sanitation, hygiene, and pandemic protection (or “WASHPAP”) for all citizens. Peter spoke on this topic at One Shared World’s annual summit which was viewed by over one million people, and he was a panelist as the Youth Representative on a UN side event hosted by the German foreign ministry.

Though a passionate Wisconsin sports fan, Peter currently lives in enemy territory in Chicago, IL as he pursues his graduate degree and finishes his research. His original career path was directed toward becoming a medical doctor, but the water and climate crisis has become too important to ignore. Therefore, he is hoping to devote his career to innovative water, sanitation, hygiene, and climate solutions.
