“In school, I am majoring in Environmental Studies in order to be able to better understand the causes of the climate crisis and environmental inequities among People of Color and individuals in lower socio-economic classes. I hope to advocate for communities experiencing harsher effects of climate change that have fewer resources to manage the effects of the crisis.
Additionally, I incorporate little habits into my daily life, such as using a reusable water bottle and refusing disposable water bottles so as not to support the privatization of water as well as prevent plastic pollution. I also try to avoid one-time use plastics. For example, I bring my own reusable containers to restaurants instead of using the disposable containers they provide.”
